The Photo Phantom is the forward fuselage of a real F-4D Phantom II jet fighter. We mounted it on a flat-bed trailer so we can transport it to airshows or parades. We have helmets and flight suits to complete the experience.
We acquired the fuselage for the Photo Phantom from a maintenance unit that was using it for battle damage assessment and repair. It had literally been shot full of holes for the crews to practice patching. The restoration of this project was a very large job, especially since we were missing the canopies, ejection seats, instruments, and radome. Both cockpits are now complete with all of the instrumentation and controls.
