The BC-1A (later known as the AT-6A) was first assigned to the 109th squadron in 1937 as a transition trainer for pilots checking out in the O-47. The 109th had T-6s through the mid-1950s. Our T-6 was actually restored from the Navy SN-J version. Canada flew a version known as the Harvard, which had a better cockpit heater.
